Overview

The main user interface to Panorama Express is organized into six (6) functional tabs or windows, namely, the Scene Tab, the Skin Editor Tab, the Hotspot Tab, the Map & Compass Tab, the Movie Tab, and the Action & Event Tab


Every tab in Panorama Express contains commands that make it easy for you to create, edit and export your multimedia packages and virtual tours. You can export your packages to a wide variety of media formats -- Internet, Local and Rich Imatronics Media. From every tab, you can also access commands for editing startup screens and branding for your packages, for saving and opening project files and for adding background sound tracks to your virtual tour.


Scene Tab

The Scene tab contains all the commands you need to load and edit panoramic and standard 2D still image scenes in your virtual tour and to select your preferred appearance for your tour.
 

A thumbnail is used to represent each scene in your virtual tour. Click a thumbnail to select the associated scene. The currently selected scene is displayed in the main view area of the Scene tab within your currently selected skin. For resizable skins, You can use the resize grabbers or skin size button to set the initial size of your virtual tour skin. You can use the “Edit…” commands to edit the properties of the currently selected scene or multiple scenes in batch. You can also import and export scenes using the standard file open dialog. And you can delete any unwanted scenes from your virtual tour.


If you wish to start your virtual tour in full-screen mode, you can check the “Start Maximized (Full-screen)” option within the Scene tab.


You can enhance your panoramic and standard 2D scene images right within the Scene tab. No need for expensive image processing software. Save tons of time and money!


Furthermore, the Scene tab gives you access to commands for adding sound tracks to individual scenes and to your entire virtual tour.

 

Skin Editor Tab

The Skin Editor tab is designed to help you decorate your multimedia packages and virtual tours with spectacular cute skins. You can also use the Skin Editor tab to manage your cute skin library.


A thumbnail is used to represent each cute skin in your library. Your current project skin is displayed in the main view area. You can set any library skin as your current project skin by selecting its thumbnail and dragging it to the main view area.


You can use the buttons on the control panel to add controllers for various aspects of your virtual tour. For example, you can add a button that allows you to display your virtual tour in full-screen mode by clicking the “Full-screen” button on the control panel and dragging it to the location on the currently selected skin where you would like to place the button.


You can also add amazing multimedia stories to your cute skin in the form of multimedia popup windows that can contain video galleries, slide shows, animated text and narration, multiple sound tracks, 3D sound visualizers and much more. Use the “Add Media” button on the control panel to add both automated and user-activated multimedia popup windows for the most engaging multimedia experiences.



Movie Tab

The Movie tab contains all the commands you need to add stunning multimedia stories to your professional virtual tours. Unlimited navigation movie clips, captivating transition effects, and spectacular motion effects are just some of the features that you can add to your multimedia stories.


Your multimedia resources (navigation movies, automated movements, scripted movements, etc) are conveniently organized into visual libraries. Thumbnails are used to represent the resources in a visual library. Click a thumbnail to select and view the contents of the associated library element.


To add a new movie to your story, click the “Add New Movie” button and select the initial source panoramic scene and movie clip type.


You can add an unlimited number of movies -- provided your computer has enough resources. Furthermore, you can add an unlimted number of movie clips to your movies -- provided your computer has enough resources.

And you can edit your movie clips at any time by selecting the thumbnail representing the target movie clip and the clicking the “Edit Movie Clip” button.


If you wish to export your finished movies as a video file, you can do so using the video export commands within the Movie tab.

You can opt to export the currently selected movie as a video file or export all movies in the order in which they appear in your library.


The Movie tab makes it easy for you to manage your movies. You can re-arrange movies and movie clips simply by re-arranging the associated thumbnails in your library. And you can delete any unwanted movies and movie clips.

 

Hotspot Tab

The Hotspot tab contains all the commands you need to add hotspots to your panoramic and standard 2D scene images.


You can add Scene (link between two scenes), URL (link to an external URL), Command (executable command string), embedded media (for amazing video-in-scene, animation-in-scene, picture-in-scene and text-in-scene effects), text hotspots, image hotspots, and multimedia (in the form of user-activated multimedia popup windows) hotspots.
 
The main view area is divided into two partitions. At the top of the view is the “Loop” partition that is used to display all your scenes as nodes in a circular loop while at the bottom of the view is a rectangular partition that is used to display the currently selected scene. You can use the divider between the partitions to adjust the relative sizes of the partitions. You can also use the associated zoom commands to expand and contract the contents of partitions.


The first scene appears at the top of the loop while the other scenes are displayed around it in a clockwise fashion.


You can very quickly and easily add scene hotspots by clicking the source scene within the loop and dragging the mouse to the desired destination or target scene within the loop.


When you move your mouse over the Loop, visual commands for adding hotspots appear within the Loop. Simply drag the source scene to the appropriate visual command to add any hotspot you wish. iMedia Connect makes it so easy!

 

Map & Compass Tab

The Map & Compass tab contains all the commands you need to add interactive maps with hotspots and compasses to your panoramic image scenes in your virtual tour. You can add multiple maps and multiple compasses to your virtual tour.
 

A thumbnail is used to represent each scene in your virtual tour. Click a thumbnail to select the associated scene.

Similarly, a thumbnail is used to represent each map and each compass in your virtual tour. Click a thumbnail to select the associated map or compass.


You can easily add hotspots to the currently selected map using the appropriate command for the kind of hotspot you wish to add.


Maps can be synchronized (associated with scenes) or independent. Any map not associated with a scene is treated as an independent map and any hotspots added to the map are embedded in the map itself.

The synchronized map contained in the currently selected scene is displayed in the main view area of the Map and Compass tab. You can use the zoom buttons and scrollbars to take a closer look at the currently selected map.


You can add a synchronized map to the currently selected scene by clicking the “Add Selected Map To Selected Scene…” button. You can remove the map from the currently selected scene by clicking the “Remove Map” button.


Another way to add a map to a scene is to simply drag the thumbnail representing the map to the thumbnail representing the target scene.


To add a synchronized compass to the currently selected scene, click the “Add Selected Compass To Selected Scene…” button. You can remove the compass from the currently selected scene by clicking the “Remove Compass” button.

You can visually associate a compass with a scene by simply drag the thumbnail representing the compass to the thumbnail representing the target scene or to the map currently synchronized with the target scene. Please note that the compass will only be displayed in the main view area when the target scene has a synchronized map.


The initial view on the currently selected scene is indicated by a vertical line drawn over the associated thumbnail.


You can synchronize the position of a compass with the initial view of the associated scene by positioning the compass to correspond with the location on the scene indicated by the vertical line.


You can add a sound track and transition effect to each map in your project.


What's more, you can enhance the currently selected map image by selecting the appropriate image enhancement command within the Map & Compass tab. No need for expensive image processing software. Save tons of time and money!


PLEASE NOTE: You need to add container frames to your cute skin for both your synchronized and independent maps for them to be displayed in your virtual tour. You can add container frames using the “Add Map Frame...…” button within the Skin Editor tab.



The main view area is divided into two partitions. At the top of the view is an area containing a graphical representation of the relationships between scenes, maps and compasses in your virtual tour -- powered by iMedia Connect. To add a map to a scene, simply draw a line between the map and the desired scene within the top view and you are done. Similarly, you can add a compass to a scene by simply drawing a line between the compass and scene within the top view. At the bottom of the view is a rectangular partition that is used to display the currently selected map. You can use the divider between the partitions to adjust the relative sizes of the partitions. You can also use the associated zoom commands to expand and contract the contents of partitions.




Action & Event Tab

The Action & Event (or Actionable Events) tab contains all the commands you need to add actionable events to your scenes.


Actionable Events allow you to associate scenee events such as activation, deactivation and rendering time with a wide variety of actions such as opening external websites, activating other scenes, executing specified program commands or displaying engaging multimedia presentations.
 

Actionable Events empower you to exercise the finest control over the presentation of your virtual tours. You can control precisely what happens at every step – down to millisecond accuracy. Combined with Virtual Tour Express's unique multimedia actions with video galleries, multiple movies, slide shows, 3D sound visualizations, text and voice narration, and much more, it is easy for you to create the most engaging multimedia experiences and the best-valued virtual tours!
 
The main view area comprises the “Loop” that is used to display all your scenes as nodes in a circular loop.

When you move your mouse within the loop, commands for adding actionable events appear. You can very quickly and easily add actionable events to any scene or slide by clicking that scene within the loop and dragging the mouse to the command representing the desired actionable event type within the loop.
